Marvel Prone is an American rock band from Dover, New Hampshire. The band consists of Rainor Vigneault (guitar, vocals). Edward McPherson (drums), Meghan McPherson (keyboard, guitar), and Owen Ammann (bass). The band plays psychedelic indie rock.
Marvel Prone originated in 2015 when Rainor, Bailey Weakley (drums), Peter Dubois (keyboard), and Reilly Webb (bass) started rehearsing original songs together at Rainor’s dad’s house. The kids were still in high-school. The following spring their first single “Nocturnal Life” aired on Boston’s premiere alternative radio station 92.5 “The River,” because the song placed top ten in a regional songwriting competition. At the same time the band had won a battle of bands contest prize of free studio time at 1130 ft Studios in Rollinsford, NH with sound engineer Chris Chase. After a year of recording with Chase (and graduating high school), Marvel Prone released their debut album Moonlightning on August 21st, 2016.
Weakley, Dubois, and Webb left the band each at various times after the release of Moonlightning. Vigneault recruited the McPhersons and Lukas Labrie on bass. Then, in February 2020, over the course of five days, the band recorded their second album She Hits Me with Max Grazier at his parents’ house in Portsmouth, NH. The album released on May 1st, 2020.
The band now prepares for their third and most ambitious album, which will be recorded with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago Illinois and released in the fall of 2022.
